Parasitology

The Department of Veterinary Parasitology is a scientific discipline that studies parasites causing diseases in animals, such as protozoa, helminths (internal parasites), and ectoparasites (ticks, lice, flies).
In this department, students learn about the morphology, biological life cycles, transmission routes, host–parasite relationships, and the diagnosis, treatment, and control methods of parasitic diseases.

Parasitological diagnostic techniques are supported by practical applications such as microscopic examination and fecal analysis. This knowledge is of great importance in terms of animal health, productivity, public health (zoonotic parasites), and epidemiology.
