A Significant Step Toward Strengthening the Integration of Higher Education and Industry:
Visit of Khazar University to Azerbaijan Poultry Company
On February 10, 2026, a delegation from Khazar University paid an official visit to the Marjan Broiler facility located in the Ujar district, operating under Azerbaijan Poultry Company.
The visit was led by the Founder of the University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli. The delegation included Chichak Aliyeva, Acting Dean of the Hasvet School of Veterinary Medicine; Dr. Fakhranda Afandiyeva, Dean of the School of Sciences and Engineering; Dr. Gunel Bahaddinova, Dean of the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology; Dr. Milana Abbasova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; Dr. Khanim Omaroglu, Acting Dean of the School of Economics and Management; as well as Dr. Sabina Mammadova and Nuranə Damirchiyeva, academic staff members of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the Hasvet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Within the framework of the visit, an extensive information tour was organized for the delegation. Participants were introduced to the company’s production infrastructure, advanced technologies applied in poultry production, biosecurity measures, and quality control mechanisms. Detailed information on the company’s operations and development strategy was provided by Rustam Gasimov, Deputy Director for Production, and Gunay Akbar, Head of the Marketing Department.
During the meeting, the parties comprehensively discussed the establishment and development of a strategic partnership between higher education and the industrial sector. Key priority areas identified included ensuring the integration of education and industry, strengthening the application of theoretical knowledge in practical environments, organizing systematic and sustainable internship programs for students, implementing joint scientific research and innovative projects, and promoting professional exchange initiatives.
The parties emphasized the strategic importance of training highly qualified specialists for the sustainable development of the agricultural and poultry sectors, highlighting the necessity of integrating academic knowledge with real-world industrial experience.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding and a shared intention to further expand cooperation in the future. This visit is regarded as a significant step toward establishing a long-term and effective partnership between higher education and the industrial sector.
